Our friend David White from the David White show on BBC Radio Cornwall spoke to Alex and posted this message on Alex Parks Fans.com:

Hello

I spoke to Alex yesterday and she said she's just come back from the London area where she's been doing some writing.

She's also hoping to record an EP later on in the year and will be releasing it independently.

She's also doing a bit of traveling and is doing a clown course.

She sounded very happy when I spoke to her and has definately not given up the music business.

Sugababes top bill for Pudsey gig

TOP pop chick group Sugababes will star at this year's Children in Need concert in Wrexham.

The chart-topping trio are just one of a host of first-class acts taking centre stage at Llwyn Isaf on November 18.

Bands appearing at the concert include, Sugababes, Texas, Alex Parks, Madness, Goldie Lookin' Chain, Fade2, Andy Scott Lee, Jo O'Meara, James Fox, The Storys.

An audience of 6,000 is expected at the free event in Llwyn Isaf, near Wrexham's Guild Hall where a host of familiar faces and voices are preparing to join in the fun.

Presenters Jason Mohammad and Josie D'Arby are the hosts on BBC One Wales, with Alan Thomson and Karen Vincent bringing the live event to Radio Wales listeners.

Not a bad result considering little or no promotion.

Now the real work begins.... the slow burn

Ms.Dynamite entered the chart 39 after extensive promotion.

Rachel Stevens entered the chart at number 28?

She'd been on every TV show in sight!

So this is very far from the end of the story.

Alex has done well!

You did your best thank you for everyone that brought 'Honesty'.

Just because it's entered the chart at 24, doesn't mean we haven't got a product to promote.

It could of been a complete whitewash & not made the Top 30, so the word did get out in the last few days.#

It came as a surprise to many of us (maybe including Alex) that Alex's new album 'Honesty' came in at number 15 in the midweek album chart.

The news is now that it fallen to number 18.

This is where we can do our bit.

I'm not going to ask you to go & buy as many copies as you can.

But if you're waiting to get your copy or if you have brought it online and it hasn't arrived yet.

Could i suggest your keep that copy as a Christmas present for someone & go out and buy your copy before Sunday.

Also if you're doing some early Christmas shopping please do it now, rather than wait...

Buy Alex!

Alex really needs those sales now!

Yes it may be a hard task, but if we can get Alex into the Top 20 it would really help.

We voted for Alex in the past, we waited for the album & stayed with Alex on her journey.

Now you can really play your part in helping Alex!

Please do your bit!

If you can afford it, please try & buy before Sunday.

In the longer term, i agree 110% with Lost on the site in saying this

'Everyone's 'job' is to let everyone know how good the album is and that after a couple of listens and they'll be hooked!'

That will be part of the slow burn, which will go beyond wherever Alex enters the album chart on Sunday.

If you can't afford another copy, if you can help with spreading the word that will really help too in the long term.

But if you can buy.. but either way thanks.

I've heard this from three different people now.

Alex Parks is a singer-songwriter from Cornwall.

She's 21, she's just made her second album, and she's part of the new school of emotionally direct female songwriters.

That's it in a nutshell - girl + guitar + voice = album of elegant expressiveness.

And hurrah for that, because what the world - the real world, that is, outside the music business - needs is proper singers who make proper music, with light and shade and substance.

If female pop singers can be divided (according to my recent scientific survey) into those with blonde highlights and those without, she's one of the latter.

What she does on the new album, Honesty, sounds deceptively easy, but the reason pop isn't full of Alex Parkses is that it's actually bloody hard - hard to write honest, unsentimental songs whose choruses lodge themselves in the memory, and even harder to sing them.

It's instinctive - which makes the whole shebang all the more remarkable."

I have a self-doubting disposition, and there've been times when I wanted to pack it in,"
